What:
The B-29 was the most state of the art plane
during World War II that was designed, and
produced by Boeing.

Where:
B-29s were mostly used in the Pacific Theater
Campaign.

Who:

When:
The first combat mission for the B-29s began
June of 1944 in China. This was a test run for
the B-29s before they started to head to
Japanese home islands.

Why:
B-29 was able to fly at high altitude that
Japanese fighter planes were not able to reach
them, and able to catch up with them due to
their speed. Anti-Aircraft weapons were not
able to reach the altitude of the B-29.

How does it benefit today in society.


The B-29 had modernized passenger airplanes for flying at high
altitudes. It was the first plane to have a pressurized cabin that
crew members where able to fly high from enemy contact.
