AGENCY HISTORY

- Genesis Health Ventures was

established in 1985.
- Between the years of 1985 to
1998, Genesis Health Venture grew,
financially, from a $32 million dollar
to $2.4 billion dollar public
company.
- In 1999, the Federal Government
made huge cuts to Medicare,
which funded the care of the
residents who were admitted to
the facility from hospitals.
- In 2003, Genesis Health Ventures
Board of Directors decided to
separate the companys in-patient
care and pharmacy divisions.
- By combining the two companies,
Genesis Health Ventures adopted
many new services, licensed and

taken over by new partners,
and they made the company
private.
- In 2011, Genesis HealthCare
was proven to be one of the
nations largest skilled nursing
and rehabilitation therapy
services provider.
- In 2012, Genesis merged with
Sun HealthCare Group, Inc,
which offered more trained
professionals.
- In 2015, the combination of
the two companies created
one of the largest post-acute
care providers in the country.
- Now Genesis HealthCare is
known as Pembroke Center.
