POSTER

PRODUCTION
Use of Photoshop
(editing tools used)

Tool bar
I used this to crop images
where necessary before
adding them on to the
poster.

The gradient tool was

used as an overlapping
layer of the main
image, this was used to
create a darker tone
more symbolic of the
film.
The text tool was
essential in the poster
as it provides needed
information to the
audience including the
films title, a review and
information about cast
and crew (in small
print).

This tool was used to move the

different aspects within the layers
around.
It was with this tool that I was able
to experiment with the
composition of the page (move
around and enlarge images as
well
This as
tooltext).
proved very useful in
terms of reproducing the exact
same colour for different aspects
of the poster. I used this tool often
throughout my production as I
used different shades of colours.
It proven particularly helpful with
Perfection. For the title, I wanted
a tone that would stand out but
also almost blend in with the
protagonists arm (as symbolism).
Therefore, in order to achieve this,
I used the tool on different parts of
the protagonists face to discover
which shade would be best
suitable for the title. Without this
tool, my overall poster wouldnt
be as well colour coordinated.

Blending tools

I often used the blending tools in order to blend the various layers in order to for the poster
to look more smooth.
I Initially used it for the social media logos (as in the photo on the right), so that they would
fit in with the tone of the poster, however, after the first draft, (with the logos), the poster
appeared more like a teen movie rather than a drama.
However, throughout the process, I have continued to use this layer for many of the
posters conventions.

Colour and colour adjustment

I used these different tools in order to create
different tones with the overall colour of the
poster.
All these tools have different impacts, however,
I experimented with them all to see which
would suit the genre of my poster the most. In
the end I used several layers of these different
tools, creating techniques that make the
protagonist stand out whilst simultaneously
having a dark toned background.

Layers
This tool is very significant
in terms of ordering the
different layers,
manipulating the image,
allowing the main image to
be at the forefront whilst
having everything else in
the background.
The order of these layers is
very important as it
determines the overall
effect and impact of the
final product.

The use of layers for the final draft

really helped in terms of creating a
strong contrast between the
background and the foreground.
Beforehand, I struggled to balance the
colours effectively, however, with the
use of the layers, there is now more
impact in my product.
