Introduction of palm computer :-
• What is palm computer

The Palm series of handheld computers is a

legitimate phenomenon. With over eight million units
sold since the introduction of the first Pilot in 1996, the

in history, outpacing even the Sony Walkman. Palm
users are cropping up in all walks of life.
HISTORY OF PALM

• Released in 1996.
• By Jeff Hawkins and Donna Dubinsky.

Unlike the other handheld makers, Dubinsky and

Hawkins clearly believed that less was more. Once
they created a machine to work in the smaller size,
they started working on the software it used.
The Original pilot

• Renamed as pilot 1000.

• 128k of RAM.
•This was sufficient for using the built-in
apps, some people clearly needed more.
Pilot 5000

• Same as the original.

• 512k of RAM.
Palm pilot ,personal and professional

• In 1997 , us robotics.

• Palm pilot was bassically the pilot 5000.

• Palm pilot profesional was more of a hint

of things to come, with 1 megabyte of
RAM , a back light and built in e-mail.
Palm III
• Released in 1998.

• It featured a sleeker, streenlined case , 2

MB of RAM.

• Lastly , the palm III was the first palm

model to put the OS in rewritable flash
RAM rather than ROM.

as a 16MHz.
• Palm IIIx as one might imagine by the name.
• The ember screen was much more readable
than the old gray screen of the palm III
• 4MB of RAM.
Palm VII
• In June 1999.
• High contrast screen as the palm IIIx.
• Memory 2MB of RAM and is not
upgradable.
• the Palm VII uses proprietary "web
clipping" technology .
Palm IIIe
• In late summer 1999.
• The ‘e’ standing for “entry level”
• and PalmOS 3.1 that it comes with is all you get.
• It has the same amber, high-contrast screen as
the Palm IIIx and the VII, but it has no Flash

FlashPro isn't an option either) and no
