While zakah is the basis for equitable


redistribution of wealth in Islam and mandatory*,
faraid is equally important as one branch of Fiqh
muamalat and having substantial nas in
AlQuran. There are major sections covered

among heirs in Quran and only small part is
determined on the basis of hadith and Ijma

Faraid is a section in Islamic law that deals


with the distribution of the estate of a
deceased person among his heirs based on
what is required in Quran and Hadith.
Estate: all assets and liabilities of a
deceased person, which, according to
Islamic law, may be inherited by the

money,shares,jewelry,equipment,vehicle
