Task 3- Lucas film
This is one of the top film companies, mostly known for creating the star wars and Indiana jones
franchise which is still going strong today, and new star wars being created plus a new Idiana
Jones. Lucas film was acquired by Walt Disney company in 2012,giving them the rights to stars
wars etc.
It is the leading diversified international entertainment and media enterprise with five business
segments: media networks, parks and resorts, studio entertainment, consumer products and
interactive.
The company doesnt just make its money from its films, they also create merchandise such as
toys and collectables which turns out is they main source of income, the items create more
revenue than the films as a whole.
They are known as pioneers in film production such as visual effects, from the release of star
wars it inspired other companies to do the same as it changed the game of film production.
It has recently created a star wars film called rogue one and has promised a new star wars film
this year in December in a follow up to their film in 2015.
In my opinion I think their best film is star wars episode VI: Return of the Jedi, this is because it
was in the original trilogy and was the finale to the classics bringing an end to the Sith lords and
the tragic death of Darth Vader.
Lucas film has had a few films that flopped, they were highly anticipated and was not as great
as everyone imagined, this was the case for the star wars prequels. It was also so for the latest
Indiana Jones : the temple of the crystal skull, people did not enjoy this film that much
compared to the other classics.
