In the Philippines, the
top four NCDs are
Cancer, CVD, Chronic
Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease,
and Diabetes Mellitus.
And recent demographics
show that people having
NCDs are not confined to
the older generation as it
used to be, but they are
affecting the younger and
most productive age group.
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
kill 38 million people each year.

Cardiovascular diseases account for


most NCD deaths, or 17.5 million
people annually, followed by cancers
(8.2 million), respiratory diseases (4
million), and diabetes (1.5 million).
Philippine Society in 2010 revealed that :

1 person die of Stroke every 9 minutes


276 Filipinos die of heart disease everyday
9 people are diagnosed with cancer every hour
61 people die of diabetes everyday
5 people die of respiratory disease every hour.
