One of the questions
that I asked in my
opening sequence
was ;What would you
expect to be within
an opening
sequence? These are
the responses that I
got from this
question.
I asked this question because I am making an
opening sequence and want to know the key aspects
of an opening sequence. From the responses that I
got I learnt that within my opening sequence I should
definitely include setting the scene and introducing
the characters. I will use this information by
implementing it in to me and my groups opening
sequence. There was a few contrasts within the
answers I got as some people said title credits
whereas some people said an introduction to the
characters. I will consequently try to include both of
these within the sequence.
The second
question I asked
was; What would
you associate with a
horror film? These
are the responses I
got.
I asked this question as when making a horror film
opening sequence I need to know what conventional
things I should include within the sequence. It is
relevant to my planning of an opening sequence as I
am doing a horror film for my groups opening
sequence. A lot of the responses that I got were
suspense and quite often blood and violence. This
helped me as I was unsure what sort of things to
include within an opening sequence but now I know.
There was not many contrasts within the survey which
is good as I know definitely know what to include in a
horror.
Another question that
I asked was; What
advice would you
give for someone
who is creating an
opening sequence?

I asked this question in order to get an

understanding of what to do when making an
opening sequence. The responses that I got
helped me as a few of them told me to make sure
it was genre specific, this is key as if I was doing
a horror film but it was not genre specific then
people could easily mistake it for an action film
or maybe a thriller. Furthermore, I also learnt that
I should build up suspense within the opening
sequence as that is what entices people to watch
the rest of the film. This question went well as it
helped me learn a lot about opening sequences
and how to make them interesting.
I also asked a
question which
was; What types
of horror films
do you prefer?

I asked this question as I was unsure on what type

of horror film would be the most interesting. This
question was massively helpful as a 100% of the
people I asked said that they would prefer to see a
thriller type of horror film. These means that I will
probably make a thriller horror film opening
sequence with my group. There was no contrasts
within the answers so it is clear to me what I
should do. What could have improved is that I
couldve asked people to say why that would want
to see this type of horror film. This would have
helped me include aspects of these types of films.
Lastly, I also
asked where
would you
expect a
horror film to
be set? These
are the
responses

I asked this question in order to find out what the

most suitable place would be to film my opening
sequence for a horror film. This question helped me
as a lot of people said the same thing which is an
abandoned building, also someone suggested the
factory Klingers which I will bare in mind as it is not
to far away from our school.
