Style guide

Below is an original logo from the TV

channel Dave followed by a logo
created by me.
Font
I chose a similar sans serif font in my
logo to the original Dave logo. Sans
serif looks as if it was written down
on paper. The ability to hand wright
is linked to intelligence and
education. This links to the channels
persona as they have a rather
intelligent image. They present
content of intelligence from highly
educated people such as Stephen
Colour
As mentioned Dave present themselves as
an intelligent channel who mostly present
content of some sort of educational
purpose, such as Have I Got News For
You. I kept blue as a theme of the logo
from the original as blue has connotations
of intelligence and wisdom. I also used the
colour orange as orange is representitive
of joy and happiness. Dave is a comedy
channel and has a slogan of Witty Banter.
Target audience
The target audience of Dave is
mostly young, upmarket men aged
from 16-34. They target people with
moderate intelligence. The logo I
have created links to the target
audience as blue is a colour of male
connotation and is also representitive
of intelligence and wisdom.
Logo isolation
I also ensured that the logo isolation
requirements are met. Logo isolation
is the spacing surrounding the logo. I
ensured that there was at least a
12mm gap between the frame of the
logo and the surrounding edge. This
makes the logo look more aestically
pleasing
Font
The font in the new logo is rather
bold as the target audience for Dave
is mostly men and boldness usually
has connotations of men and
masculinity, so bold writing is likely
to interest males more than females.
