SCHEDULE OF CHECKS /TESTS AS PER

STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS

INTRODUCTION:
The objective of testing cargo equipment regularly is to ensure their efficiency and
accuracy as far as practicable.
The IGC Code requires certain equipment to be tested on a regular basis, and the
CDI requirements impose these with certain periodicity. There of course remains
the gray area where no specific test schedule is mentioned, but records of regular
inspection or tests require to be verified. For these cases, recommendations have
been included for a minimum periodicity. However, it needs to be emphasized, that
it is always safer to do a check ONCE TOO OFTEN, rather than ONCE TOO
LESS to be confident of the equipment at your disposal.

1 Pressure Relief Valves 8.2.5 5.1.18 16.12. Testing and setting by a competent authority
1 every 4 years; Annual test of
5.1.40 lifting pressure for valves with variable settings.

2 Cargo flexible hoses 5.7.3 5.1.22 _ Hydrostatic test to 1.5 times the max working
pressure. The max working pressure to be
stenciled on the hose. Annual test
is required by surveyors.

3 Vent riser Flame Screens 17.10 5.1.38 16.12. Record of inspection should be
