Introduction
The experiment that we are doing is
called a cartesian diver. We chose the
Cartesian Diver as it is an interesting
experiment.It test on density.We
need to have pressure to see the
changes in the experiment itself.
Our Question???
How does the dropper sink
inside the bottle when added
pressure?
How fast can the dropper sink
when
the amount of water inside the
dropper increase?
Our Prediction...

Our prediction is that the dropper

sink because the dropper is denser
than the water when added
pressure.So the dropper will
sink. The dropper will also sink faster
when the amount of water increases
as water can quickly fill up the space
Variables
How: fast dropper sink when
Dependant variable
water is added to the
dropper
Amount
Independent variable : of water added in
the dropper
Control variables-Type
: of bottle used
-Amount of water inside the bottle
-Amount of water in the dropper
-Type of dropper used
-The same force used to press the the bottle
-The position the bottle pressed
-The strenght the person have at that time.(The persons hand
will get tired and engery will not be as much as the first
attempt,based on the person.)
Materials we used

A glass eyedropper
A plastic bottle with
cap(1.5l)
Tap water
Method
1st step: pour water in the
plastic bottle to the brim.

2nd step: fill the dropper with

different amounts of water.

3rd step: put the dropper into

the bottle, put the cap on, then
squeeze.

4th step: take the timing for the

Our Discussion
After discussing as a group,we found out that when
more water is filled up in the dropper, lesser time was
taken for the dropper to sink and float. When less water
was filled in the dropper, more time was taken to for the
dropper to sink.So we had made a relationship which is
when water in the dropper changed, the timing of the
dropper to sink and floating also changes.
Conclusion

Our is conclusion is that the more water in

the dropper, the faster it will take to float and
sink in the bottle. The lesser the water in the
dropper, the slower it will take to float and
sink in the dropper.Hence, amount of water in
the dropper when changed affect the timing
taken for the dropper to sink and float.
Reflection of Team Leader
I had learned about how the cartesian diver works
and what is a controlled, independent and
dependent variables and also how variables affect
the experiment that my group is conducting.I
want to learn about what type of air is released
when the bottle is pressed and how the dropper
float to the surface after the dropper sink. One
thing that i would want to improve on this project
is to find out what exactly the experiment is
testing so that i have a better on how the
experiment works
Reflection of Photo/Video Manager
I had learnt about how the cartesian diver
experiment works and i had also learnt more
about density and also how to work as a team
even though we quarrel sometimes.I would like
to learn how to take pictures and videos in a
professional way.I would also want to know more
about density further as it is an interesting
topic.I would want to improve on myself like
improving in how to work together as a group
and not quarrelling and blaming others if the
experiment does not work.
Reflection of Report Manager
I had learnt how to properly communicate
with my group members ,to work together
as a team and to solve with
disagreements. I had also learnt how to
accurately set up a fair experiment.I have
also learnt the variables in deep through
doing the experiment.I would want to
learn how to do an accurate in a different
way and how to set up a data in a table
clearly.I would want to improve on my
values when doing works that includes my
classmates or peer
Reflection of Material
Manager
I had learnt about the different
apparatus used for the experiment and
i had also learnt how to cooperate with
my peers and also i had learnt about the
topics and concept that are in the
experiment that i am doing.I would want
to know the names of more apparatus
that are in the science lab and also
about how to use the different type of
apparatus when needed for the
experiment.I would want to improve on
my behaviour as i am not quite
cooperative with my friends and peers.
Reflection of Data Manager
I had learnt to take down data and
help the group leader when she
needs help .I also enjoyed helping
my group members and also learnt
how to speak nicely to the group
members and to help each other
whenever they need help. I want to
learn more about density as I find it
amazing,it is the most interesting
topic to me ,as you can do tons of
amazing experiments and tricks
How to make a cartesian diver with an
eyedropper???
