PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 6.1
Study and apply knowledge to understand person and
environment. One way this can be accomplished is by
becoming familiar with the different assessment tools used
within the agency and the strengths and limitations of each
tool.

Also by understanding the developmental stages of the

population being serviced and integrating that into the
assessment process is another way of meeting the client
within their environment
PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 6.2
To increase understanding of the client in environment look at
specific methods or concepts being used in the agency and solicit
feedback from the field supervisor or other agency staff on your
understanding of the methods being used.

By identifying various theories about human behavior ( biological,

social, cultural, psychological, or spiritual) you observe when out
in the field working with clients, and discussing this with your field
instructor or field supervisor is another way to become more
competent and increase understanding of client in environment.
