ECE 121 - PRACTICUM

What is EcE 121?
A 3 unit course that enables the students
to relate their acquired competencies to
the realities and problems of the industry.

121?
Fourth year status (incoming Fifth Year)

Completed the prerequisites (ECE115


and EGR 36)

Policies and Guidelines:
Before the OJT
Students must undergo the pre-OJT
initiatives of the University:
Mock Interview
HR assessment tools

Student must be enroll ECE 121/Practicum


during specified enrollment schedule.
Policies and Guidelines:
Student Must secure an On-the-Job Training
Waiver (F-COL-005). Get copy from the
Deans Office.
The trainee will look for a possible
Company where he/she can render the
training. Trainees can be involved in any,
but not limited to the following:
Broadcasting
Telecommunications
Systems design/experiment
Electronics related fabrication
Policies and Guidelines:
Secure a completed endorsement letter
signed by the OJT coordinator and the chair
of the department.
NOTE: portion of the endorsement letter must be
returned back to the coordinator

Secure a MOA/MOU or its equivalent as


prescribed by the University Legal Team. It
should be signed by the companys
authorized representative. JRUs VPAA is
authorized to sign the MOA/MOU.
Policies and Guidelines:
If the Legal Team agrees with the
MOA/MOU, the trainee will prepare five (5)
sets which will be signed by both parties on
each page.
The trainee will provide a copy of MOA/MOU
to the deans office, one for the
chairperson, and a notarized copy to the
company.
Student/trainee will secure a Medical
Certificate.
Policies and Guidelines:
During the On-the-Job
Trainee needs to attend regularly his
enrolled schedule.

Trainee must submit his Weekly Status


Report (WSR) together with the daily time
record (DTR) to the OJT coordinator. WSR
must be signed by the trainees immediate
supervisor.

Report any problems encountered.


Policies and Guidelines:
Trainees are not allowed to participate in other
company activities (ie outings or parties).

Do not engage in outside work without the


approval of the coordinator/chairperson.

Do not work in night or graveyard schedule.

Trainee must secure approval of


coordinator/chairperson before working on a
Saturday, school/legal holidays.

Company Profile
Description of Job Roles/Responsibilities
Photocopy of Certificate of Compilation
Student Evaluation of On-the-Job Training (F-
COL-010)
College On-the-Job Training Evaluation Form (F-
COL-006)
Student Portfolio
Training Hours
240 hours
Credited after the release of the Placement
Clearance
Hours rendered shall only be counted
during the summer class only (starting April
3).
During Holidays, students are not allowed
to render training hours.
Trainees are encouraged not render
Overtime
Undertime is strictly prohibited
