What is Gemba?
Gemba is a Japanese term meaning the Real Place.
Gemba refers to the place where value is created.
In manufacturing industries the Gemba is the factory floor. It can
be any site such as construction site, sales floor or where the
service provider interacts directly with the customer.
Gemba can be a powerful piece of your Lean toolbox.

The idea of Gemba is that the problems are visible, and the best
improvement ideas will come from going to Gemba.
The Gemba walk much like Management By Walking Around
(MBWA).
It is an activity that takes management to the font lines to look for
waste and opportunities to practice Gemba (practical shop floor
improvement).
Gemba role in Quality
Management
Gemba means the manufacturing floor and the idea is that if
problem occurs, the engineer must go there to understand the full
impact of the problem, gathering data from all sources.
The purpose of the Gemba is to build the capability of others and
yourself.

1. MSDS should be displayed in Urdu where chemicals are bunding
2. No open end pipes in the area
3. Fire extinguishers are marked and staff know their position
4. First Aid box should be present with complete items
5. Chemical storage area should be in bunding
6. Housekeeping of the area
7. Hazardous and appropriate signage's must be displayed in the area
8. Hot surfaces must be marked
9. All the drain and sample points must be labelled and tagged
10.Fire Exit routes must be communicated with respective areas staff
