to find out various reasons behind the failure of HMT
watch as well as solutions
INTRODUCTION
Hmt watch the subsidiary of Hmt limited
incorporated in 1953 by the govt. of India.
Started manufacturing watchs from 1963 as
the diversification strategy under
Technical collaboration with CITIZEN
Watch Company of Japan with a
manufacturing unit at Bangalore.

1.Lack of advertisement
2.Lack of marketing strategies
3.Outsoured of raw material
3.They did not focus on their strength(mechanical
watchs)

They could not focus on new segment

Hmt could not cope with changing


environment because of the competition
raised by titan & export of Swiss watchs.
& did not focus on their own strength.
So they failed in market.
