RESEARCH

PROCESS
Standardized Testing
Finding a Topic Worth
Researching
If D-1 college athletes should get paid?
Realized that was a bad topic that did not have a lot of reliable
sources.
I then switched my topic to standardized testing.
My question that I was trying to answer was if standardized testing
was effective or not.
EBSCOhost Sources

There were four sources that I used throughout my research process.

These sources gave valuable information as to why standardized
testing was effective or not.
They provided enough information to help me write over my topic and
know what I was writing about.
Internet Sources

I used eight sources throughout my research paper.

These helped when I needed find history of standardized testing.
Personal thoughts from teachers and students.
Conclusion

After all the research that I had done I came to the conclusion that standardized
testing is not effective.
For every one positive outcome there were three negative outcomes.
Students are tested over memorization instead of their critical thinking skills.
Teachers are given guideline they must follow in order for their students to
hopefully pass the test.
Teachers jobs depend on how well their students do.
Students are bored in school because the lesson plans are not fun.
Testing is costing around $1.7 billion a year.
Teachers nor students are given credit for how much they have improved
throughout the year even if a student does not pass the test.
