provision of free vaccines
for infants as their
primary series of
protection against vaccine
preventable diseases for
School Based
Immunization
Protection produced by
some of these vaccines
will decline over time
Booster doses may be
needed to ensure that
high levels of protection
are maintained
School Based
Immunization
New vaccines such as the
human papillomavirus
(HPV) vaccine are more
effective if delivered at a
specific age.
Objectives
To immunize school
children enrolled in Grade
1, Grade 4 and Grade 7
with the DOH
recommended appropriate
vaccines.

MCV Screening
All Grade 1 students shall be
screened by the Teacher In-
Charge/Adviser for their
Measles vaccination history at
the time of school entry and
should be vaccinated if
evidences show either zero
or only 1 dose received.

Why Screen MCV
History?
Students should have
received two doses of
Measles Containing Vaccines
which were given at:
9 months Measles
Rubella; and
12-15 months - Measles,
Mumps and Rubella (MMR).

Methods to Screen Measles
Immunization History:
Immunization Card
Recall by the Parent (with
Certificate)
If with no immunization card
and the parent/guardian can
not recall, it is considered as
zero Measles immunization.

Vaccination with Measles
Rubella:
Students who received 2
doses of MCV:
DO NOT VACCINATE
Students with 0 or 1 dose of
MCV or no immunization card:
List the names of the
students, number of MCV

Rubella (MR) for 0 doses
received:
Vaccinate with Measles to
complete the 2-doses per
student at 1 month interval
from the last dose. Vaccination
with MCV can be done on the
same immunization session for

Vaccination with Td Vaccine:
All males and females shall be
vaccinated with 1 dose of Td vaccines
in the designated immunization post
and record in the Recording Form 1.

4
Vaccination for HPV Vaccine
Only 9-13 years old female
students in Grade 4 shall be
vaccinated with 2-doses (6 months
apart) of the quadrivalent Human
Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine.

All males and females students shall
be vaccinated with both MR and Td
vaccines regardless of immunization
status.
Follow-up of Missed
Students
Students with consent to be
vaccinated but were missed
during the scheduled
immunization should be followed-
up and referred to the health
center catchment for the needed
vaccination until August 30.
Students who will be referred
and vaccinated at the RHU shall
be accompanied by the School
