Simple forms vs. Continuous
forms
Simple forms are normally used to talk about
completed actions or permanent situations. E.g.:
I live in Paris.
I travelled to Paris last year.
Ive been to Paris twice.

Continuous forms are used to talk about ongoing


actions or temporary situations. E.g.:
Im living in Paris for five years.
I was travelling to Paris when my niece was born.
Ive been travelling to Paris every two months.
