requires children to begin school at the age range of five to seven years and

state regulations. (find Law).
Children suffering a severe injury, illness, the death of a parent or
guardian, or the severe illness or injury of an immediate family member

Some states permit exemption from compulsory education requirements
for religious reasons ( find Law).
CASES
Pierce v. Society of Sisters (1925)
An Oregon law require parents to send their children to a public school. The court
found this law unconstitutional because it interference with the fundament

the responsibility for educating children should rest with the parents (find
Law). Moreover, it made it clear that government can operate private schools.
