The document outlines a "Two Minute Huddle" program implemented at a school to improve staff morale and sharing of best practices. The program was started because staff felt faculty meetings only highlighted problems. It dedicates the first two minutes of faculty meetings and professional development for teachers to share successes within their departments, with one representative then sharing highlights with the full group. The purpose is to recognize teachers and inform practices through colleague collaboration.

Provide staff members with an opportunity to share their accomplishments Inform professional practices with strategies and techniques used on campus that have proven successful by colleagues and peers HOW IT BEGAN
Staff members felt that all that was ever heard at
faculty meetings were the things that were done wrong. A suggestion was made to provide a forum for teachers to be recognized and share the good things that take place in their classrooms with their departments at all grade levels and with the campus, not just grade level and instructional teams. The program coordinator and principal agreed that a few minutes could be designated at each faculty meeting and professional development for this to take place so that teachers would have their forum. HOW IT WORKS
The first two minutes of every faculty meeting
and professional development are devoted to the Two Minute Huddle. Teachers gather in their departments and share accomplishments, achievements, and successes. One person from each department then shares with all assembled, not just departments, the highlights of things that are shared within the departments. QUESTIONS? COMMENTS?
