MapStory is a new dimension to
the global data commons which
empowers people to organize what
they know about the world
spatially and temporally, rather
than encyclopedically, the way
Wikipedia already empowers us to.
Static maps represent a single time slice of Earths
history, and only the limited perspective of the creator.
MapStories represent historical change and the
accumulated knowledge of everyone that has
contributed to the StoryLayers used in the MapStory.
