We are challenging everybody in
Morgantown to give an hour of their
time twice a year. WVU students,
professors, local residents, everybody
in Morgantown. If everyone gave an
hour of their time we believe the
results would be incredible. We could
make Morgantown so different if we all
gave a little time and got together to
better the community. Work at a soup
kitchen for an afternoon, join a road
cleanup, even something as small as
mowing that patch of lawn none of the
neighbors claim to own and never
mow. Morganton is a beautiful city,
and it gets underappreciated because
it is not cared for. If we all join
together we could do something as
large scale as put an end to
homelessness in Morgantown
altogether. We want everyone to
participate and at this event there will
be plenty of opportunities to get
involved and learn about what
volunteers do at different
organizations to make sure you know
a little bit before you get into it. We
hope you take our challenge and give
up two hours in the next year to help
make Morgantown the beautiful,
friendly, thriving community that we
all know it can be.

is a perfect place for
this even. This will allow for there to
be a game going on at all times and it
gives the audience the most amount
of action at one time. It is also
extremely accessible from both the
PRT and the many bus routes that go
by it. For those who will be driving
there are a plentiful amount of parking
spaces on the Evansdale campus. Also

there to be more room for people to
come and cheer on the players or to
play themselves. We are hoping to
attract a lot of people in order to raise
as much funds and awareness as
possible as there is no way any of this
could be done without community
participation. We want this event to be
just as much as a celebration and
meeting for the community of

make our community a better place

The issue of homelessness is a
result of many different problems.
Many people that are homeless here
in Morgantown traveled here due to
the resources we have to offer. Our
community organizations are here to
help those in need but can only help
so many people. We need to make
sure people are fed but we need to
make sure those that come for help
are helping themselves also.
Another serious issue among the
homeless population is addictions.
All of the organizations that were
listed earlier in this brochure will
refer anyone battling addiction to
AA meetings where they can talk
amongst others facing the same
problem and fight the problem
together. The last issue of
homelessness we will discuss is
unfortunate events. Families come
to our organizations because the
parents lost their jobs and cant find
employment or because they lost
their home to a natural disaster. The
organizations we have in
Morgantown welcome anyone facing
any sort of issue and will do
everything in theyre power to help
a family in need
