10 Prove that current density can be expressed as J=nVe/L where n is the number
of electrons per unit volume, is the mobility of electron; V is the electric potential;
E is the electronic charge and L is the length of the conductor.
11.Two circular coils one of radius r having N1 turns carrying current I and the other
of radius R having N2 turns are placed coaxially with their centers coinciding.
For R >> r obtain an expression for the mutual inductance of the arrangement of
coils.

magnetic field B. Deduce an expression for the emf induced in the rod.

750 MHz ?
16.Prove that when a convex lens produces on N times magnified image, the object
distances set from the lens have is (f+ f/N). Here f is the magnitude of the focal
length of the lens.

17.A parallel plate capacitor has plates of area 0.32m2, which are separated by a
distance of 5mm. These capacitor is raised to a potential of 1200 V. Estimate
the average value of displacement current, when it is discharged for 1 s.

18.A piece of copper and another of germanium are cooled from room temperature
to 1000K. Explain with how their conductivities will change.

19.An electron is revolving around a long line charge having charge density . Find
the expression for kinetic energy of the electron assuming that it is independent
of the radius of an electron orbit.

20.An alternating voltage E=200 sin 300+ is applied across a series combination of
resistance of 11 and an inductor of 200mH. Calculate (i) impedance of the
circuit (ii) peak value of current in the circuit and (iii) power dissipation of the
circuit.
21 Using Huygens principle prove the law of reflection by constructing wave fronts.

Using Huygens Principle prove the Snells law of refraction.

22a) A graph between debrogile wavelength as function 1/V (V is Accelerating


Potential) is given for two particles A and B having same charge. Which of the
two particle has heavier mass.

b) X rays of wavelength fall on photo sensitive surface emitting electron.


Assuming that the work function of the surface can be neglected. Prove that
debrogile wavelength of the electron will be (h/2mc)1/2 where h is the Plancks
constant, m is the mass of the electron and c is the speed of light.

23. State the postulates of Bohrs atom model ? Calculate the longest wavelength
emitted by the hydrogen atom in the Balmer series.

What should be the modulation index for faithful Amplitude modulation.
26. For circuit shown below calculate the potential difference between B and D
using Kirchoffs laws.

ii) In the following figure a voltmeter V is connected across lamp L. What
changes would occur at lamp L and the Voltmeter V if the resistor R is reduced
in value? Give reason for your answer.
28.a) State Amperes circuital law. Using Amperes circuital law, derive an
expression for the magnetic field at a point P inside and outside a thick wire
of uniform area of cross section carrying current I.
b) Draw a graph to show the variation of magnetic field with respect to
distance from the centre of wire to the point P outside the wire.

a) Explain the construction and working principle of a moving coil
galvanometer.
b) Explain why this galvanometer cannot as such be used as an ammeter to
measure the value of the current in a given circuit.

29.a) Derive an expression for the electric potential at any point from a electric
dipole where the line joining the dipole makes an angle by the axis of
the dipole.
b) Two charges 5 x 10-8C and -3 x 10-8C are located 16 cm apart. At
what
point on the line joining the two charges it the electric potential zero.
Take the potential at infinity to the zero.

30a) Draw a ray diagram to show the refraction to light through a glass prism.
Hence obtain the expression for the refractive index of the material of the
prims.
b) A ray of light incidental on an equilateral glass prism shown minimum
deviation 300. Calculate the speed of light through the glass prism.
