CDMA
In GSM ,voice is transformed into digital data, which is given a channel and a
time slot, so three calls on one channel look like this: 123123123123. On the
other end, the receiver listens only to the assigned time slot and pieces the
call back together
On the other hand CDMA uses a "code division" system. Every call's data is
encoded with a unique key, then the calls are all transmitted at once; if you
have calls 1, 2, and 3 in a channel, the channel would just say 66666666. The
receivers each have the unique key to "divide" the combined signal into its
individual calls.

CDMA Classifications
CDMA channel is nominally in the range of 800 Mhz and 1.9 Ghz.
CDMA Standard can offer speed upto 14.4 kbits/s in single channel form and
upto 115 kbits/s in 8 channel form.
CDMA consists of 1X,EVDO Rev0, EVDO RevA, EVDO RevB.
1. 1X 144 kbits/s
2. EVDO Rev0 2.4 Mbits/s
3. EVDO RevA 3.1 Mbits/s
4. EVDO RevB n*4.8 Mbits/s (n = no. of channels)
. SVDO transmits voice and data simultaneously

Now, How is 3G related to CDMA ?
It might seem
unfamiliar to you
but 3G GSM is a
CDMA technology
called WCDMA,
which stands for
Wide band CDMA.
It is also called
UMTS ( Universal
Telephone System).
LTE
Long-Term Evolution(LTE) is a
standard for high
speedwirelesscommunication
for mobile phones and data
terminals
The standard is developed by
the3GPP(3rd Generation
Partnership Project)
LTE is the upgrade same for
carriers with both GSM/UMTS
networks
andCDMA2000networks
Uses TDD and FDD to transmit
data
