Introduction:-

One of the important events in world history.

Started in 1789.

Over the next decade many important events like the Tennis court oath,
the Reign of Terror took place.

As a direct result of this, the ideals of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity

became a staple in the world conscience.
Impact on Europe:-

Following the revolution, France made an effort to spread its

revolutionary ideas to the rest of Europe.
This troubled the monarchies of Britain and Austria.
In 1791, King Leopold of Austria and King Frederick William II of Prussia
issued the Declaration of Pillnitz, which led to the French declaring war
on the Holy Roman Empire in 1792.
Great Britain, Russia, Spain, Portugal, the Ottoman Empire and
Switzerland also joined the fight in the years to come.
The French lost in the beginning, but things changed after 1794. They
started winning and the war finally ended by the Treaty of Amiens.
 The French Revolutionary Wars along with the Napoleonic wars
established France as a major military power.

This further spread the ideals of the revolution.

The French conquest also led to the events like the Unification of Italy,
the eradication of the Holy Roman Empire, essentially laying the seeds
of the modern Europe we see today.

Impact on the United States Of
America:-
There was a very strong bond between America and France.

Many Americans wanted to help the French people during the revolution.

A divide was created on how involved America should be. It led to the
formation of two political factions:
Federalists
Republicans

Taking advantage of the wars in Europe, the USA invaded Canada in 1812, but
lost when the British interfered.
