The term change denotes a difference in


anything observed over a period of time. Social
change therefore would mean observable
difference in any social phenomena over any
period of time.

FACTORS OF SOCIAL CHANGE:
Physical factors: geographical factors such as climate,
rivers, forest etc
Biological factors: size and composition of population
produce social change
Cultural factors: change in ideas, values, beliefs, morals
and manners, customs and traditions
Technological factors: modern technology has changed
our social and family life, economy of the country and
religious life
Other factors: education, planning of social change, law
and legislations etc
