Our Journey to

Japan

Itinerary
Season: Summer, July
Day 1: Fly to Tokyo International
Airport
Day 1-7: Stay in The Prince Park
Tower hotel.
Day 8: Travel by train toOsaka
(Universal) and then travel by train
to Oshino (Mt Fuji)
Day 9-14: Stay in Ryokan Fujitomita.
Day 15: Travel by bus to Tokyo and
fly from Tokyo International Airport
Transport From Dublin to Tokyo
To fly to Tokyo, we have to first fly to Dubai and then to
Tokyo.
We will take the Emirates flight EK162 from Dublin to
Dubai on Friday 7th July at 13:50.
We will arrive in Dubai at 00:25 on Saturday 8 th July.
Then, we will take flight EK312 to Tokyo Haneda
Airport at 8:00 on Saturday 8 th July.
We will arrive in Tokyo at 22:45.
The total travelling time will be 24hr 55min.
Accommodation
When we are staying in Tokyo for the
first week of our holiday, wewill stay in
the The Prince Park Tower hotel, which
looks on to Tokyo Tower,and is right in
the middle of the city.

When we climb Mount Fuji for the


second week of ourholiday, we are
staying in the Ryokan Fujitomita,
Oshino,Yamanashi and you can see
Mount Fuji from the hotel.
Onsen
The Japanese word 'onsen' means a
natural hot spring.
They are found in all regions of Japan
and are different sizes and depths,
depending where you are.
Hot springs are renowned for the health
benefits they bring because of the
minerals in the water.
We will stay at a ryokan with a hot
spring.
Tokyo
When we visit Japan, we will be able to try many Japanese
dishes, not just sushi!
There are many restaurants in Tokyo selling soba noodles,
tempura and other foods.
We will shop in the Ginza, which isa high-end shopping
district in Tokyo, with many department stores and boutiques.
We will visit the Imperial Palace and the Imperial Palace
Gardens.
Tea Ceremony
The Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea, is
a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial
preparation and presentation of matcha, powdered green
tea.
To experiencethe teaceremony we will go toTranquility
in Tokyo,herewe will bea part of a traditionaltea
ceremony while learningabout its history.
Thisshouldcost around us around 1000yen each.
Nezu Shrine
While in Tokyo we willvisitthe
NezuShrine,which is close
toTokyo's famous Ueno Park.
Nezu Shrine is best experienced in
April, buteven inits off season its
still worthwhile to see all the
oldbuildingsandventurethrough
the grounds.
Universal Studios Japan
Early in the morning on the 8th day we will
get a train from Tokyo to Universal Studios
Japan in Osaka and the train takes 3 hours.
We will go on all the rides and stay there
all day.
At night we will get a train from Universal
Studios to the Ryokan Fujitomita, which is
a Japanese inn, in Oshino, Yamanashi
beside Mount Fuji.The train takes 6
hours.
Mount Fuji
Our last tripwill beahike up Mount Fuji, it shouldtake usabout seven
hours to hike up.
Becausewe will be staying in theRyokan Fujitomita, we willhave tohave
to get ataxi tothe start of the climb.
Before weclimb the mountain, we mustvisitMurayama Sengen
Jinjatemple because Japanese people believe that Mount Fuji is a sacred
mountain, connected to God.
We will alsohave a look at one or two of the five lakes before we start our
hike.
Whenwe finish, we'llhead back to the inn or explore the other lakes.
Transport FromTokyo to Dublin

We will leave Tokyo on Emirates flight EK313 at


00:30 on Saturday 22nd July.
We will land in Dubai at 6:15 on Saturday 22nd
July.
Our connecting flight EK163 to Dublin is at 15:15
and we will arrive at 20:10 on Saturday 22nd July.
Total travelling time is 27hr 40 min.
