Operation

All switches can be operated with the included operating handle

Internal mechanical interlocking between the switch disconnector/isolator and
the earth switch prevents incorrect operation
The isolator in the V-Module can only be opened after the circuit breaker is
opened
The operation of the switch disconnector /circuit breaker and earth switch can
be further interlocked by means of a padlock
For closing the switch fuse disconnector / circuit breaker the spring
mechanism must be charged.

Unscrew fuse cover

Tilt out the fuse panel to gain access to fuse canisters
Applying the operating handle and turning anti-clockwise opens
the fuse canisters
Fuse installation and replacement

Pull out the fuse handle. The fuses are firmly fixed in the fuse cover
ABB - 10

Fix the fuses to the fuse cover using the contact screw. The striker
must point out from the fuse canister for the fuse to function properly

Maintenance

1. Function inspectionOpen and close switches manually

2. Check the secondary wiring first before you operate switches
with motor. Test local/remote operation of motor.
3. Interlocks checking
Interlock between E.S. and LBS
Interlock between CB and D.S. (if applicable)
Interlock between manual and motor operation.
Interlock between E.S. and cable cover.
Interlock between fuse compartment cover and E.S. (if
applicable)
ABB - 13

Local/remote control interlock

-
Maintenance

Interlock inspection of C unit:

Try to operate LBS while LBS at
open position and E.S. at close
position. (test the interlock between
LBS and E.S.)
The cable cover can be removed only
when both E.S. at close position.
The cable cover can be mounted
properly only when E.S. at close
position.

Interlock inspection of F unit:
Try to open the fuse compartment cover
while LBS at open position and E.S. at
open position. (test the interlock
between fuse compartment cover and
E.S.)
Try to operate LBS while LBS at open
position and E.S. at close position. (test
the interlock between LBS and E.S.)
The cable cover can be removed only
when both E.S. at close position
ABB - 15

The cable cover can be mounted properly

only when E.S. at close position

Maintenance
Interlock inspection of V unit:
Try to open the DS while CB at close
position or E.S. at close position. (test
the interlock between DS and CB or
between DS and E.S.)
Try to operate E.S while DS at close
position. (test the interlock between DS
and E.S.)
The cable cover can be removed only
when both E.S. at close position
ABB - 16

The cable cover can be mounted properly

only when E.S. at close position

7. Check battery
8. Confirm all fuses have been fixed properly. (F, M panel.)
9. Confirm all current circuit is not opened
10. Confirm all voltage circuit is not short circuit
11. Confirm the earthing system of equipment have been connected
the earthing network very well
12. Confirm the E.S. of incomer at open position before you
energize an equipment
13. Confirm the bushings of D unit be fitted with insulated cover if

there are no cable connection

-
Maintenance

Routine inspection:
Check the manometer status (within green area)
Check the position indicator well working.
Check the EFI well working
Check all LED of Voltage Indicator flashing
Check if there are any abnormal temperature or sound in the
cable compartment or not

General fault and solution:

1.Case: The LBS operating handle can not turn, Mechanism seems to be locked.
Reason: Earth switch do not reset.
Solution: After opening the earth switch , continue to turn the handle 90 degree
anti-clockwise.
2.Case: After earth switch operation ,Can not pull out the operating handle .
Reason: Earth switch do not reset
Solution: Take down the switch panel ,Open and close the earth switch once again.
pay attention to reset.
3.Case: F module can not charge manually.
ABB - 21

Reason: The trip device problem.

Solution: Check as follow: 1) fuse trip device 2) open and close button
3) the trip coil
