WORKED EXAMPLE (2)
For the resultant SFD and BMD, determine the
maximum Bending Stress and its location, if
it has a rectangular cross-section of 240
width x 460 depth mm.

SOLUTION:
From the plotted BMD, the maximum bending moment is
at section C, of Mc= 48 KN-m
Where:
M = 48 KN-m
ymax = 460/2 = 230 mm
