Dedeman is a hypermarket chain with

100% Romanian capital offering home


improvement and do-it-yourself goods. The motto
is "Dedicated to your plans". It is based in and
operates 44 hypermarkets (November 2014) in the
country. Dedeman was created in 1992, by two
brothers Adrian and Drago Pavl.
Dedeman is the second largest
employer in Romania among the 100% domestic
companies, after RCS-RDS.
History
Dedeman was founded in 1992 in Bacu,
Romania, its first store initially measuring
modest proportions, only 16 square meters,
selling various retail merchandise. Dedeman
recorded a rapid growth of success, presently
owning over 44 store complexes with tens
of hectares, spread all over the country.

Federation) 2014
Dedeman want to become the main sponsor
of theFederation. The companys name will
appear on the Romanian football national
team equipment.
COSR(2017)

The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee signed a partnership


with Dedeman, which is a protocol during the period of 6 years. The
support of a partnership provided to Dedeman is essential in achieving
the goals of this project.
Free Miorita

The latest initiative, "Light for Red Puddle", is


being developed in partnership with the Free
Miorita organization and involves ensuring
access to electricity for a whole isolated village
in Botosani County. With the aid of solar
panels, Dedeman brings light to the
households of people, so that they can do their
work more easily.

The Dedeman Group also includes Dedeman Automobile
(Dacia dealer, Renault, Nissan).
In 2013, Dedeman bought with 1.4 million euros in the
former Elbac Furniture factory in the Bacau, Romanian.
The furniture factory had more than 300 employees in 2007
and was part of the former Woodworking Combination
(CPL) in Bacau.
Elbac Bacau was one of the largest woodworking
combinations, with over 5,000 employees, but who has lost
factory since 1990.
Competitors
Dedeman is not only one of the top five DIY stores in the country, but it is
also the top of the list.
If Dedeman retains its market leadership and is one step ahead of a billion
euros, Ambient, for years, the largest local DIY network, recorded a 56%
decline in sales last year, Bigger in the industry.
After the 2015 turnover, Arabesque is ranked second in the podium.
In fact, Arabesque is also one of the few Romanian companies that have
expanded abroad.
The top retailer in DIY is complemented by Praktiker, which has 28 stores
on the local market and has rising sales for years.
On the fourth position in the top is Hornbach Romania, which reported a
profit of over 1.2 million euros in 2015.
On the fifth place is Ambient, known as the biggest DIY store in Romania,
in 2015 had the biggest drop in profits(56%).
Merchandise
In the Dedeman retail network, customers can
choose items for thermal, sanitary, electrical, sewerage
and gas installations, building materials, interior
fittings, tools and accessories, tools and implements,
protective equipment, garden supplies, Furniture,
electronics and home appliances.
The range of products marketed is extremely
generous, with more than 45,000 landmarks coming
from national producers or from imports - France, Italy,
Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and China.
