What was the Great
Depression?
The Great Depression was an event from 1929 to
1939, ending with the start of World War Two. It
began when the New York stock market collapsed
on Black Tuesday. Combined with a major drought,
it was a period of drastic increases in poverty and
unemployment.
What were the causes?
There are many causes for the Great Depression, these
two are the most significant:
Stock market crash aka Black Tuesday
Investments lost
Banks close
Unemployment
Drought
No food to eat or sell
Game
How was Alberta effected?
Alberta was an agricultural society
