Research Thrusts
and Priorities
The research thrusts and priorities of
BSU are based on the research agenda
of CHED, NHERA, NEDA, DOST-SEI
and other agencies where research
occupies the depth and breadth of
their activities. The university
encourages researches that are
multidisciplinary and those that can
benefit the neighboring communities.
These thrusts and priorities are
clustered into the following broad
disciplines:
Institutional Researches;
Education;
Ecology and Environment;
Socio-Economic-Political-Cultural;
Mathematics, Science and
Technology
 There are four centers established to
help carry out the identified thrusts
and priorities. These centers are the
following:
Education and Advocacy;
Socio-Economic, Political, Cultural
and Health Center;
Science and Environment; and
Governance

 Quality Assurance Mechanism
1. Students found using a
ghostwriter to complete his/her
thesis/dissertation will have
automatically a failing mark. For
faculty ghostwriters found, an
administrative case can be filed
against them.
2. For quality of control of research data,
the following software may be used as
applicable for data analyses:
Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences SPSS, Minitab, NVIVO,
Comprehensive Data Analysis CDA, Test
Analyzer and other available software in
the University.
Specific fees for this service will be paid
in the Finance Office.
3. For the quality control of the
research outputs
All researches will be subjected to
Grammarly, Plagiarism or Turnitin
Tests.
A passing rate of 80% Original for
Plagiarism Test.
85% and above for Grammarly Test.
Students will pay the specific fees to
the Finance Office
 Ethical Guidelines
All
researchers will be guided by
the ethical guidelines for social
research as set by the Philippine
National Health Research
System.
