The Library
Questions:
How often do you go to our school library?
Now that we are already using MLDs in school, do you still
get the chance of visiting our library to read books or
research?
WHAT IS A LIBRARY?
A library is a collection of sources of information and similar
resources, made accessible to a defined community for reference
or borrowing.
A library is a hospital for the mind.
A library is a miracle. A place where you can learn just about
anything, for free. A place where your mind can come alive. (Josh
Hanagarne)

What is your own definition of a library?

HISTORY OF LIBRARIES
During 2600 B.C., there were no formal libraries. There were bunch of
writings in cuneiform called archives (or historical records) which
were written in clay tablets, but they had no storage.
In the 5th century BC, private and personal libraries were formed.
The Library of Constaninople and Alexandria are some of the greatest
libraries in the world, and these libraries consisted of scrolls.
In the 19th century, modern libraries were built.
