PT Sinar Sosro is a company which focus on
producing Tea in packaging
Establish in 1974, by Sosrodjojo Family

PT Sinar Sosro has distributed their products to


all over Nusantara, through sale branch offices in
Nusantara
Nowadays, PT Sosro sell tea in various type

Sugar were delivered from Thailand by plane
It took almost 5 Hours of flight from Thailand to Jakarta, then it sent by truck
to East Java and its time is almost 20 Hours

Those empty bottles were delivered by truck

Bottle will sent back to its distributor to store
But, if the bottle is broken, it will send back to manufacture or supplier to
be recycle before using it back

Kantor Penjualan Wilayah (KPW) will store and
checking it back to make sure between bottle flow in

back to manufacture in Gresik, East Java Then after re-used, it will sent back to
warehouse and ready to sell
What To Improve
Their supply chain is one of the best distribution way among other company
in Indonesia. So, we think that there is no problem in its Supply Chain
change supply for sugar from thailand to local source, that will affect
shipping cost and shipping time.
East Java is has the largest field of sugar, escpecially in Jatiroto near
Lumajang City
It has 171,915 hectare of sugar field with produce 86,278 Ton Canned Per
Day (Source : BPKM, 2008)
Based on the potential, we suggest that PT. Sinar Sosor could take sugar from
Jatiroto or maybe build an Branch Company who taking responsibilities to
Sugar production

Conclusion
From the third tier, sosro has branch companies to control it, nut also hey
use thrid parties to control and supply bottle and crown cork
PT Sinar Sosro has intregated supply chain system, which called un-direct
system where the products from the warehouse not diirectly sells to
consumers
PT Sinar Sosro by their branch office or Kantor Penjualan Wilayah will
distribute it as a agent or salesman to supermarkets,local shop, and
restaurant
They also has reverse logistics, which is bottle will store in warehouse
From the warehouse,the bottle sent to manufacture
It would re-use by the manufacture, then they will sent back to
warehouse
