Green Bean Sprouts

Outline

 Introduction
 Objective of study
 Factors and Levels
 Experiment Procedures
 Data Set Description
Introduction
 Green beans are mainly grow in China,
Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Burma,
Bangladesh and India, but also in hot and dry
regions of southern Europe and the southern
USA.
 Uses
 China: dessert (green bean soup)
 Indonesia: popular dessert snack (es kacang hijau)
Introduction

 Green bean sprouts are germinated by leaving

them watered with 4 hours of daytime light and
spending the rest of the day in the dark.

 Green bean sprouts can be grown under artificial

light for 4 hours over the period of a week.

 Fluorescent bulbs or incandescent light bulbs

would be the best to use for green bean sprouts.
Introduction

 Germination of green bean required:

 Water
 Temperature
 Oxygen

 However, in our experiment we leave our

green beans in the specific location 24 hours .
Objective

 Tofind out the factors that influence the rate

of germination

 Toexplore the main effect that influence the

rate of germination

 To investigate the interaction of the factors

Factors and Levels

 Factors :

1. Location
(expose under sunlight (outdoor), normal room (indoor), air
condition room)

2. Number of beans
(5, 10, 15 beans)

3. pH
(<7, 7, >7)
