DEFORESTATION
Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet.
They produce oxygen
Forests provide homes for many of the worlds most
endangered animals.
1.6 billion people rely on forests for food, fresh water,
clothing, traditional medicine and shelter.

FACTS Approximately 46-58 thousand square miles of forest

are lost each yearequivalent to 48 football fields
every minute.
Forests soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
and this effects climate patterns.
It is estimated that 15% of all greenhouse gas
emissions are the result of deforestation.
