Working definition:

Text: The language usage which is


communicatively complete. Therefore text can be
written or spoken. Text is considered having
messages to its receiver.
Discourse: The process in which the message of
communication is being transferred to its receiver.
Textology: The study of language usage, especially
those connected with linguistics (i.e. vocab and
grammar).
Contrastive Textology:
Why we conduct Contrastive Textology, and
what for?
To identify the difficulties in the language
usages (similarities and differences)
To solve the problem of language usage
To help the translation process/study
