What Happened ?

A) In the early hours of May 16, just hours before she


was to turn 14, Aarushi's life was snuffed out in
most brutal manner at her parents' home at Jalvayu
Vihar in Noida, Uttar Pradesh .

B) Suspicion immediately fell on the family's live-in


man-servant, Yam Prasad Banjade alias Hemraj , a
45-yr-old Nepalese national.

C) The Noida police announced a reward for


information leading to Hemraj's apprehension and
arrest..

Clues-

Aarushi and Hemraj were attacked by a blunt


object 4 inch thick and 8 inch long.
The throats of the two victims were slit after
they were murdered.
E-mails sent by Aarushi indicate she and her
father had their spats.
There were no signs of struggle on Hemraj's
body.
Murder took place between 1 am- 3 am on May
16.

Timeline of Case

May 17, 2008:- Hemraj's body found on the


terrace of Talwar's house.

May 19, 2008:- Talwar's former Nepalese


domestic help Vishnu Sharma named suspect
& compounder, Krishna arrested by CBI.

May 23, 2008:- Aarushi's father Dr. Rajesh


Talwar arrested for the two murders.

June 25, 2008:- Second lie detection test was


conducted on Dr. Nupur Talwar & Rajesh Talwar.

June 26, 2008:- CBI declared the case to be a


"blind case". Dr. Rajesh Talwar refused bail.

December 29 , 2010:- CBI files closure report in


Aarushi murder case. The closure report filed in
Ghaziabad court says Rajesh Talwar is the sole
suspect

March 8, 2011:- The mother of Talwar's


lawyer is found murdered in her home.

April 13 , 2012:- Nupur Talwar's bail plea gets


referred to The Chief Justice of India.

May 14, 2012:- Trial for the double murder


begins.

Judgement -

Convicted under Sec 302 with Sec 32 of Indian Penal


Code.

Life Imprisonment under Sec 302 & Sec 34 of Indian


Penal Code with a fine of Rs10,000.

Both accused are sent to district jail Ghaziabad under


warrant of Sec 365 CrPC.

Judgement signed, dated & pronounced on 26.11.13.
