ROSQUILLAS FROM RIVAS

ROSQUILLAS FROM LAS PIEDRAS, RIVAS.

The Rosquillas of Las Piedras, well known to


be produced in the community of the same
name, are characteristic of the city of Rivas.
They are made from corn, with grated cheese,
egg, butter, beef melted butter and lard. They
bake until toasted and given a circular shape.
Traditional viejitas carry over a pinch of honey
sweet brown sugar which printed an exquisite
flavor.
INGREDIENTS:

3 kg of flour of corn.
1 kg of cheese

3 sticks butter

7 eggs

salt and sugar to taste.

1 tapa of dulce (for viejitas)


PREPARATION: COOK AND GRIND THE CORN FLOUR
The corn has to be hard for the crushed flour is
obtained. Grind corn twice and then strain to
obtain a finer mass.
PREPARING THE CHEESE

make the cheese it into small pieces so that it


can mix with the flour of corn.
PREPARATION OF CORN FLOUR:
Corn flour mixed with a stick of butter and add the
cheese into small pieces, mixed and all the
ingredients are milled, add salt too.
Then when cooled corn flour mixed with two sticks of
butter and the 7 eggs, mix well and it is ready to make
circular shape will then baked.
After 20 minutes in the oven these are ready to be
digustadas accompanied by a cup of coffee
