The origin of Halloween goes back more than

2,500 years, in the Celtic festival of "Samhain" or

"end of summer". That night the Irish celebrated
the last day of the harvest season and welcomed
the Celtic New Year.
During this celebration, the dead were reunited
with their loved ones and all dined and
celebrated together. So that the spirits did not
get lost and find the light, some people left lit
candles, food and sweets in their doors and
windows. They also managed to enter through
