The Leaning Tower of Pisa The Leaning Tower of Pisa is famous


because of its leaning position. During World War II,
the Allies discovered that the Germans were using the tower
as an observation post. Numerous efforts have been made to
restore the tower to a vertical orientation or just keep it from falling
over.
The Florence Cathedral The Florence Cathedral was begun in
1296 in the Gothic Style with the design of Amolfo di Cambio. The
cathedral is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese
of Florence, whose archbishop is currently Giuseppe Betori.

Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo was a variously called the
father of paleontology, ichnology and architecture, and is
widely considered one of the greatest painters of all time.

greatest living artist during his lifetime, he has since also
been described as one of the greatest artists of all time.
