Activity:
Students will be asked to pick a date in one of
the above books and to submit a 3- page
historical snapshot corresponding to events in
the Holocaust and WWII as they were on or
around that date. This paper will also serve as
a space to reflect upon the living conditions of
the book’s main characters and to address
events or situations that may be coming next.

Activity:
Using any of the above three texts in conjunction with a
nonfiction class textbook on the history of science, students
will present a PowerPoint (5 slide minimum) that focuses on
the “current” state of science and technology, putting
themselves in the shoes of one of these characters. Students
will explain “recent” technological developments as well as
endeavors that elude scientists like Galileo and Leonardo,
such as flight and alchemy.
