10 Keys to Successful Retailing
1. Know your audience and prepare accordingly
2. Simplify your approach
3. For pure retailers, avoid MLM terms and discussion
4. Build a relationship of trust
5. Use comparisons and marketing materials to position
product positively alongside competitors
6. Have product on hand when you make the approach
7. Offer a consignment option - low risk gets you in the
door
8. Have pricing scheme locked down and simple
9. Use retail model to fuel MLM business and break titles
fast - be strategic about purchasing product

success

HIRO Retail Training

#1 - Know Your Audience
Profile your target
Know the environment
Dont talk MLM to retailers
If you have a relationship, then talk MLM
and Rewards member program
Retailers want products that sell and they
want it simple

HIRO Retail Training

3 Retail Options
1. IPC supplied You keep them stocked with product,
they dont care about business side. They deal only
with you. Set up as a business and get a tax ID# for
yourself.
2. Rewards Member Self supplied. They purchase direct
from the company at a better price and volume count
as personal volume to you. Set them up as a business
with a tax ID #. TNI only needs a copy of the tax
exemption certificate, not the business license.
3. New IPC Self supplied and build downline. Better price
by using Personal Rebate, no hassle to you, and they
can offer home delivery to their customers by signing
them up as Rewards members. Sign up as business.
TNI needs a copy of the business license.
*Please consult your policy manual for information on how to sign up a business.

HIRO Retail Training

#2 - Simplify Your Approach
Retailers wont understand or have
patience for the marketing plan
What a retailer wants to know:
Will it sell?
How much money will they make per can?
Why should they stock it?
Can you supply them?

HIRO Retail Training

world that are powered by Tahitian Noni*

HIRO Retail Training

#3 - Avoid MLM Terms or
Discussions
Most retailers wont care about MLM and
might be turned off
Build a relationship first, and then if they
are open you can take the opportunity to
the next level
KISS, KISS, KISS
Be prepared to work hard

HIRO Retail Training

#4 - Build a Relationship

Just like MLM and any business, people buy

from those they know
Take the time to get to know the owner or clerk
Give them samples, support, posters, materials
Retail is highly competitive, so be patient and
determined
Energy and Persistence Conquer All Things
Ben Franklin

HIRO Retail Training

#5 - Use Comparisons to
Positively Position
Dont slam other products, especially since
they are probably working well for the
retailer
Use the success of other products to
position HIRO as a healthy alternative to
increase their energy beverage business
No one is currently stocking mobility or
vitality equivalents this opportunity is
wide open

Testimonials
DONNA RHOADES
IPC from WEST TISBURY, MA
The health food store owner loved HIRO
Mobility and said this is truly a unique
product. He said, Those people that read
the ingredients and know about them
expect that it will taste very bad, but it is
excellent. I was expecting a bitter flavor,
now I am very interested.

How does it compare?

HIRO Retail Training

#6 - Have Product on Hand
You cant sell what you dont have
If they have to wait for product, you are
dead
If you want to truly play in retail you must
always have product on hand
Sample the product and give away
samples to the retailer and customers
Retailers dont want to mess with shipping
- they are used to having it delivered

HIRO Retail Training

#7 - Offer Consignment
Consignment is very common in retail and very effective
Leave the product for the retailer and follow up in a few
days to collect the money for what has sold
Sampling, promos, point of purchase materials, make it
work, get creative
Example: Buy 3, Get 1 Free during the consignment
period
Sell-through is king during consignment period
Low risk for the retailer and potentially high payoff for
you
You can find a standard consignment agreement by
going to a search engine (Google, Yahoo) and searching
for it

HIRO Retail Training

#8 - Pricing
Make it very simple
If you are serious, buy by the pallet
Get your group to go in together
Average retailer makes $.75 per can on Red Bull and $.45 to $.60
on Coke and Pepsi
Have your plan locked down and easy to explain
Example: Buy from me at $2.50, sell at $3.25 to customers.
Dont use the same price for every situation. Restaurants and bars
should have a higher retail price. There is a sliding scale, so know
your target
Advantage Pack works great to get started, but dont try and sign up
retailers and get them to purchase the Advantage Pack. You buy it
to get the best price and get started. Once you are going, purchase
using the pallet program.

Testimonials
GREGORY J WACHTER
IPC from MOUNTVILLE, PA
All 10 locations are vending machines at gyms or athletic
recreational centers. I chose locations that have a lot of traffic (5 to 8
thousand registered).
We had presentations at the lobbies in April in anticipation for the
vending machines scheduled to arrive in May. After three days of
presentations we had sales of $900, which has been wonderful for
us since it has been a little taste of what will come when the vending
machines are in place.
We are very excited about the new products and see them as an
opportunity that opens the door to other products, especially
TAHITIAN NONI Juice. It becomes a great potential for new IPCs.
In our presentations we have a couple of DVDs playing,
informational material and on a back table information about other
Tahitian Noni products. We answer any questions people may have.

#9 - Use Retail to Break Titles
Be strategic in your buying so you maximize
your title potential
Imagine:
50 retail sites selling 5 HIROs a day
That would be almost 2 pallets a month
Depending on price that is $4000 in retail profit per
month
2 new Jades per month depending on placement and
how you purchase
Use your retail business to drive your MLM
business
Duplicate, duplicate, duplicate

HIRO Retail Training

#10 - Vertical Marketing
Leverage the success of one placement to
secure additional placements
Example: With success in a restaurant,
you can now take that success story and
target all similar restaurants in your area
Use testimonials from management and
customers
Example: Many restaurants sell Red Bull
for $4.25 per can

Testimonials
JACQUELINE & JOHN REILLY
IPCs from WHEATLAND, WY
Los Dominguez Mexican Restaurant is just
starting to sell HIRO. They started with three
packs and have already purchased three more. I
give the product to them on consignment; they
have a small refrigerator that holds a little over
two packs of HIRO. The owners wife has been
drinking TNJ since 2003, so they both believe in
the products, especially knowing that HIRO has
noni juice in it, which pleases the people that I
have spoken to about the drinks.
