LOAD FACTOR CALCULATION

100% Power x 0.5 Hour = 0.50

80% Power x 1 Hours = 0.80
37% Power x 2.5 Hours = 0.93
6% Power x 6 Hours = 0.36
2.5910hrs = 26% LF

Rating Selection Criteria:

Load factor
Time at full throttle
Operating hours per year

Rating Selection
4
A Unrestricted Continuous : Untuk aplikasi Heavy Duty, operasi di 100% load, cocok
untuk pelayaran samudera spt. tug boat, kapal ikan, cargo
dll. yg. berlayar lebih dari 12 jam non stop.

B - Heavy Duty Rating : Sedikit di bawah aplikasi A, load factor max. 80%, jenis
kapal hampir sama dg. A, hanya max. waktu pd. Full load
(gas penuh) 10 jam.

C Maximum Continuous : Cocok u/. ferry jarak pendek/pelayaran pantai, kapal ikan,
kapal offshore dll., load factor max. 80%, namun max.
full load 6 jam.

D Intermitten Duty : Untuk aplikasi kapal patroli, Bea Cukai, pilot boats,
pleasure dll., max. 50% load factor, dan waktu max. 2 jam
pada full load.

E - High Performance: Aplikasi light duty u/. pleasure craft/yacht, pilot boats,
max. load factor 30% durasi pada full load 1/2 jam max.

IS THE ENGINE TBO ACCEPTABLE?

Time to Overhaul (TBO) is

used to verify our rating Wear = Load + Friction
selection.
Fuel Consumed
TBO is based on
Target fuel consumed Operating Hours
(as per Maintenance
Book) vs. estimated actual
fuel rate and / or Target Fuel Consumption
The engines operating TBO =
Actual Fuel Rate
hrs, whichever occurs first

6
Time Before Overhaul
3512B Maintenance
Guideline
1st Top End Every 787 500 L (206 250
gal) of Fuel or 4 500 Service Hours

2nd Top End Every 1 575 000 L (412 500

gal) of Fuel or 9 000 Service Hours

Overhaul Every 2 362 500 L (619 000 gal)

of Fuel or 13 500 Service Hours
(Not Applicable on high performance and
high displacement engines)

How to Fix Over wheeling Problem ?

Temporary fix:
Adjust engine rack setting, high idle, software
Check /correct fuel & air inlet temperatures
Operate at reduced rpm
Trimming / Ballast
Permanent fix:
Installation audit
Resize/re-pitch propeller
Gear ratio,
Hull & propeller cleanup
