ABSTRACT

Tourism development tends to activities that are recreative and not many developed it in
educative design. Although, Nowaday there is a tendency for ecotourism development that is
a sustainable tourism development, which supports environmental conservation efforts
(natural and cultural) and increase community participation in its management, yet not much
tourism has made as a means and learning resources, especially in the province of Banten.
Therefore the application of th e concept of edu-ecotourism in the development of tourism is
important to provide great benefits to the tourism sector. This research was conducted on
August - November 2016 in Sawarna Beach, Bayah Sub-district, Lebak Regency, using
qualitative descriptive method through direct observation, interview and literature study. The
results of the study note that the type of ecosystem in the coastal area of Sawarna consists of
natural ecosystems: forest, beach and river; and the artificial ecosystem consists of ponds,
farm, and agriculture fields. These types of ecosystems can be developed into agrobussines
edu-ecotourism, home industry, and nature tourism as a means and learning resource for
elementary school students, high schools, colleges, and the public.
