ONLINE TRADING

ONLINE PRODUCTS

 WEB-BASED PRODUCTS :- Trading is done by the client


by simply using the GEPL website. There are two type of
web-based product :
1. PRIME (Silver)

2. ACTIVE (Gold)

 SOFTWARE BASED :-Trading is done by the client by


using the software provided by GEPL. This is a more
advanced application
1. EXPERT (Platinum)
Pre -Requisites for online
trading
 The client has to have internet connection for online trading.
 Sun java should be installed in clients system.
 The client must have an email id.
 An existing offline client must compulsorily fill up the ECN
form if he wants to trade online.
 Client must have an email ID
 NO subscription charges for the online trading facility .
 Also there is NO brokerage commitment for the client who
subscribes for the online trading.
 Client must open a Demat account with GEPL.
BANKING
 For online fund transfer of equity trades, the client must have
an account in either HDFC Bank or Axis Bank.
 If he has bank a\c with HDFC or Axis bank then the funds get
transferred into the client’s bank a\c within the same day.
 But, the request should reach to the HO before 12.30 pm on the
same day or else the fund transfer will take place on the next
day.
 For online transfer of funds in commodity trades, the client
must have an account in HDFC Bank.
 In case, the client has an account in other than the two banks
mentioned above, then online banking from the software is not
possible.
 However, clients can do a NEFT/RTGS from the bank website.
If offline client wants to go online…
 If the client who has been trading offline & wants to go
online then this can be done as follows :

1. The client has to send a request to the branch manager , then


branch manager has to check in LD for following details :

1. If Client’s email id is updated with the master & activated for


ECN or not

1. If client’s email id is not updated then he has to fill a


modification form. this form can be obtained by sending a
Email to the HO.
CONTD….
 HO sends the forms via email . After filling the form, a hard
copy of the filled form should be couriered to HO. HO
executive will modify the email id in LD.
 For receiving the ECN ,client has to fill the ECN mandate
form.
 After the above mentioned requirements are fulfilled, client
can trade online.
TRADING LIMITS
 Intraday limits for cash = 5 times ledger balance.

 Clients will be allowed to carry positions equal to their ledger


credit balance for the following segments.
1. Cash (delivery)
2. Futures ( deposit >= span margin requirements)
3. Options ( deposit >= option price)
4. Commodities ( deposit >= margin as specified by the exchange)

 Clients will have their limits increased only once the payments
made have been cleared.
 At 3.10 pm every trading day, intraday positions are automatically
squared off from the System.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
 How to check if SunJava application is installed or not
 Tools => Internet options => Advanced => (check for SunJava)

 Also check for


 Tools => Internet options => Privacy => (Block pop ups must not be

ticked)

 Password:
 Password must be change after every 14 days.

 The last 8 passwords must not be the same.

 The password must be alpha-numeric
