    Deep neural networks use forward and backward propagation functions as building blocks. Forward propagation takes the input from the previous layer and calculates the output for the current layer, caching intermediate values. Backward propagation calculates the gradients to update weights and biases in each layer using the cached values from forward propagation and the gradients from subsequent layers. These functions allow deep neural networks to be trained on large datasets.
