→ We Chose 4th year (housing ) and 5th year (thesis ) Students


from ARC department . Sample size was 12.

→ A lecturer of Architecture department gave the interview .

→ The topic related material is so vast, that’s why for narrowing


down we chose particular sample.
4th year and 5th year student have good knowledge on the
topic that was the reason for choosing them .

→Expertise have always good knowledge in their own subject .


So we chose a urban planner for interview

we chose those samples because it was feasible for us, since


they were inside the nsu campus.

1. Do you think the organic growth of Dhaka city is a major obstacle in developing the living
condition as well as other systems like transportation? Whether mass transit system is
necessary solution to the chronic problem of Traffic congestion?

2 . Do you think the duties and responsibilities given to the governmental development
organizations (RajUK ,City Corporation); that have to pursue services like city planning,
providing planning for electricity, sanitation, food supply, and resources; are being fulfilled
properly? State your point of answer.

3 .Rising urban population rate is causing law and order of the country to degrade; do you
support the fact? Whether or not better law and order conditions are an important aspect
for a country’s development?

 4 . Are FDI [foreign direct investment] is necessary for increasing GDP and uplifting people
from poverty level. Is this hypothesis is right or wrong?

5. Is Push-pull factor having a positive or a negative impact in Dhaka city growth?

6 . Do you think rural areas should be developed to reduce probable migration of people in
Dhaka city for social status changing?

7 . Do you think government should provide services ( housing and health care) and jobs to
low income groups who migrate from rural areas to Dhaka city to help increase their
standard of living?
 
8 . Do you think the ecological balance is being disrupted due to intervention of garments
industries and other business institutions in residential areas? If yes, how validate your
answer.

9. Do you think that wet lands and other water resources are becoming scarce to due to
illegal interventions and encroachments and if they play an important part in the City’s
ecological balance?

occurring? How can it be solved?

12 . Do you think building construction rules should be applied to improve the urbanization
or not? Do you think it is necessary to reduce congestion in the city? State your reason of
answer.
 
13 . Do you think satellite cities could be an alternative solution of Dhaka city to reduce the
pressure of urbanization this city is facing? How?

•What is your view about the present population, planning and urban growth of Dhaka

• What are the reforms that can be brought about to improve the present urban conditions
and efficiently control the Dhaka city?
