Vidiomas 2017
 What is it?
Vidiomas is a semester project for all the English and French Classes
during the Fall. Students have to create different products throughout
the class time to show evidence of their work in teams of 4 to 5 people.
The project is divided as follows:
1 PARTIAL- Script presentation ( 5 pages minimum with
characters, places, and the completed story)
2 PARTIAL- Trailer ( 30 seconds trailer using the footage from
the recordings to present in class previous to the final project)
- Poster ( 28 X 36 cms)
- FINAL VIDEO

THE FINAL VIDEO / VIDIOMAS
This video once released will compete among the rest to earn nominations in
different categories (sound, writing, editing, visual effects, photography,
costumes, actors, direction, and the main award: best vidiomas)

The length of the video is optional due to creative efforts but it should not last
longer than 15 minutes, unless it is necessary to go over 5 more.

The video should not last less than 5 minutes, thats evidence of bad
teamwork and the grade will be represented as failure.

The topics are open to creative / team selection of the genre:

comedy, suspense, action, drama, etc.

IMPORTANT RULES
The video should be comprehensive: the dialogues should be clear and
listenable.
The video should not be recorder at school grounds mostly. This is semester
project, not a class activity.
The video should not have gratuitous violence, gore, use of bad language and
offensive content ( sexual encounters, nudity or use of drugs - alcohol).
The video should evoke emotions, achievements, goals, human relations,
understanding, human values and life lessons.
The video should have a title, subtitles, and description of the cast ( students
special participation to be nominated if so in the categories)

TEAMS
The team should be minimum 4 a maximum of 6.
Single entries will not be accepted.
Team is open to chose from the classmates body.
You can work along other students in different classes but they will be
counted as extras.
* Only in special circumstances students will present a common vidiomas in
different groups.
The team must have a good vibe, energy and spirit of organization and
excellence in their work, but most of all desire to make a good vidiomas.
1- Chose your vidiomas team
STEPS
2. Select the genre, and plot ( main characters and a basic story)
3. Start working on your script. (Describe dialogues, places, moods, characters,
villains, situations, the music, and the climax of your story)
4. Organize dates to work with your team ( weekends, days off, etc) you need
to get together and film!
5. Decide the roles, the cameraman, the editor, the actors, the musician, the
visual effects editor, the person in charge of subtitles, etc)
6. Create a Trailer
7. Design a poster
8. Present your Vidiomas
Final steps
Create your Adobe Spark - The Making of
For this final step you will present it in class the final weeks of classes.
You will use all the photos, links, behind the scenes shots, videos and a final
conclusion of your project.
Its a fun activity and therefore it should be the end of this long process.
