Summary of Work Completed
Collate, review, validate the data
Review seam correlations, geological model,
stratigraphic model and CQ
Input data to Surpac and model
Develop resource model & estimate resources
Develop conceptual pit design & mine layout
Run pit optimisation (baseline SR 10:1)
Refine pit design, waste dump, haul roads
Estimate reserves
Stage planning & scheduling
RESOURCE

Modeling coal resources interpretation from logged geology data and

borehole sampling data with process interpreting correlation seam.
Seams then entered into seam sequence list which defines them in
stratigraphic order. These are assigned flags which define them as
COAL or WASTE.
There are seven main seams spread from South to North.
Total resource is 2,629kt for coal and 48,768kbcm for waste.
Base on drilling data that seams consistent has parting and thin inter-
burden as sub-seam where all become main seam. Seam thickness is
very varied (0.1 - 0.6m).
Thin seams require detailed observation to analyze correlation bore
hole to ensure that as much overburden, inter-burden, and parting
material is excluded as coal from the estimates

Pit design & Optimization

Optimization pit running to find the optimal value based stripping

ratio coal against waste to determine the final pit outline
Pit outline driven by average stripping ratio and the pit will growth
because more material becomes economic. This growth of pits often
termed nested pits.
The one of parameter used for pit optimization is overall slope of
bench associate with ramp.
Overall slope for North and South pit used 42.2 degrees.
The result of optimization have the shape of nested pit namely
optimization 00, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 apply for North and
South pit which has difference stripping ratio.
Optimization 30 for South pit and optimization 30 for North pit
selected by reason of the ratio coal against waste is 1 : 10

PIT DESIGN
Geotechnical review is the one of consider for pit design and waste design.
Parameter pit design used
a. Slope angle : 70 degrees
b. Berm width : 7 meter
c. Bench height : 10 meter
d. Ramp width : 18 meter
e. Ramp grade : 10%

Parameter waste design used :

a. Slope angle : 35 degrees
b. Berm width : 3 meter
c. Bench height : 10 meter
d. Ramp width : 18 meter
e. Ramp grade : 10%

Capacity waste dump is 1.5 million LCM there is opportunity expand waste dump to
the East .

RESERVES

Reserving coal generated by solid model was

constrain by pit design and topography.
Solid model build from strip, block, and bench
which is 50m for strip, 60m for block, and 2.5m for
bench
Sizing of strip, block, and bench aim for mining
sequences.
South pit reserves is 358kt of coal with SR 1:9.3
North pit reserves is 1,281kt of coal with SR 1: 10.6
Total reserve is 1,639kt of coal with SR 1: 10.3
